The cover for the book was inspired by both early 20th Century, European graphic design as well as modern trends. The illustration depicts scenes from all the different Schools within the Faculty as one large hotbed of creative activity. This reflects one of the Faculty’s great strengths of collaboration and interdisciplinary work.
A bold decision was made to not feature a logo or title on the front panel of the book. This makes the book quite unusual and makes the reader wonder what's in store.
Wild Ilk worked on our high quality publication to tell the story of Birmingham City University’s Arts, Media and Design Faculty. They worked on developing the visual narrative from past to the future.
They offered a fresh style and layouts which were sensitive to the subject matter. The cover produced was not only impactful but a genius representation of the teaching disciplines.
