Sixteen

Brand Design, Website Design

Sixteen is a photographic exhibition that explores what it is like to be 16 years-old in the UK today. The project was initiated by photographer Craig Easton in his own practice but it was then broadened to invite 16 other photographers to explore the topic.

We were asked to create a brand, for Sixteen, that was simple and clean. The brief required a strong logo but one that wouldn't detract from the artistic body of work. We decided to pursue a route that reflected the simplicity of the concept of the project, and experiment with the number Sixteen. The chosen concept was a custom-drawn letterset that spelled the word Sixteen with a total of 16 shapes.

For Sixteen's website we needed to display photograph and moving image and also show the geographical locations where the images were taken. We used Wordpress Content Management System (CMS) and developed a bespoke gallery to house various styles of artwork. We also built a Tour page for the client to add dates of where the exhibition is going and built in Social Media widgets to show activity from Twitter and Facebook.
